Don`t take them to Book Off! They should change their name to Ripoff! They will give you 10 yen for some books, and 0 yen for other books, and tell you “we cannot use these.”
Then give you a blank stare, as if to say, what should we do. More often than not, I leave my books for free and I bet you have too. Then if you shop there, and look hard enough, you will find your ” useless ” books on sale! For 100-200¥. They aren’t even kind enough to give you 50 yen.
Machida Public Library needs your English books! So does Hadano Public Library. There are other libraries in Japan that have and want English books. Donate them!
And visit the Machida Public Library! It`s a beautiful library with hundreds of English books.
